Join Rabbi Pearlman to explore the spectrum of Jewish ideas about God. Like Jacob wrestled with the angel, our tradition teaches that we too must engage with God. We will survey theological texts from the bible, rabbinic period, medieval and modern period. We will also examine our movement’s new High Holiday Prayerbook, Mishkah HaNefesh, as an example of how our liturgy encourages us to wrestle with God and challenges us to widen our perspective on traditional images and themes of the Holy One. This class will run on Thursday at 12 noon - 1:15 from April 7- May 19 with no class on April 28. Feel free to bring your lunch. No background is assumed and each class is independent so you can join at any time.
