Teens

Jewish adulting is designed to prepare 11th and 12th graders for the real world, especially in this time of increased anti-Semitism. Students will develop skills for navigating being a Jewish adult in the world today from our texts and traditions and through practices of mussar and mindfulness. Led by our rabbi.

Confirmation is a celebration of our graduating high school seniors who have stayed involved in the Jewish communities and continued to make an impact. An important milestone and one to be celebrated!

L'Taken means "to repair" in Hebrew, and, in partnership with the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC), teens in grades 10 and up have the opportunity to impact and begin to repair our country as they share their views on social justice topics with decision-makers on Capitol Hill. The weekend will give them the knowledge and tools to write an effective, persuasive and passionate speech on a topic of their choice to present to your Senators and Representatives. This unique experience can have a significant impact on the course of legislation, as members of Congress have chosen to co-sponsor, offer amendments to, and vote for pieces of legislation that participants discussed. 

Teen trips are social and service events out and about in our community, including but not limited to bowling, ice skating, volunteering at Rose Bridge Farm and Jewish Relief Agency, and attending the theater. Open to grades 8 and up, and we invite our 7th graders to begin joining us on teen trips in the spring.

Our teens have the opportunity to serve as madrichim, teaching assistants, in Sababa School on Sundays. Through training and dedication, they can move from volunteers to paid teaching assistants as they continue to serve in the program. Our madrichim are an asset and amazing role models to our younger students, and they gain real-world skills in teaching, classroom management, lesson planning, and more!
