About

History

Beth Chaim Reform Congregation was established in 1992 by a handful of families looking for a Jewish home in Chester County. They created a place where Reformed Jews could worship and celebrate Judaism in an open and accepting place. The founders of Beth Chaim knew they were creating something powerful and are still in awe of the magnificent community that has grown into what Beth Chaim is today. On August 26th, 2007, the Beth Chaim congregation created their dream sanctuary and moved the Torah into their new home in Malvern, PA.

Beth Chaim is one of the few local synagogues that have grown in membership through the COVID pandemic. We attribute that to the strength of our community and the creative energy of our Rabbi and leadership. We proudly support our surrounding community in social justice as we continue to grow, introspect, and learn ourselves deeply embedded in Jewish values. The world is a complicated place. Beth Chaim is here to ground us in shared values and education with a Jewish lens and create friendships beyond our sanctuary walls. Beth Chaim is affiliated and strengthened by our relationship with the Union of Reform Judaism and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
